An optical-fiber sensor for the measurement of the size and density of monodisperse particulates

An optical-fiber sensor that characterizes monodisperse particulates in terms of size and particle density is described. The sensor is composed of multimode optical fibers and GRIN rods that provide combined scattering and transmission measurements at multiple detection angles. Experimental test res...

Description
Summary:An optical-fiber sensor that characterizes monodisperse particulates in terms of size and particle density is described. The sensor is composed of multimode optical fibers and GRIN rods that provide combined scattering and transmission measurements at multiple detection angles. Experimental test results reveal good agreement with numerical predictions.
