Study of structural and magnetic properties of B-rich RE–Fe–B nanocomposite ribbons

In this work, a systematic study of the structural and magnetic properties of B-rich rare earth–Fe–B nanocomposite samples produced by annealing amorphous ribbons was carried out. The crystalline Fe 2B phases t-(Fe, RE) 3B and α-(Fe, RE) precipitated at temperatures above 550 °C. The coercive field...

Description
Summary:In this work, a systematic study of the structural and magnetic properties of B-rich rare earth–Fe–B nanocomposite samples produced by annealing amorphous ribbons was carried out. The crystalline Fe 2B phases t-(Fe, RE) 3B and α-(Fe, RE) precipitated at temperatures above 550 °C. The coercive field was found to diminish dramatically, from 1.33 to 0.05 kOe, with the addition of small quantities of Misch-Metal.
