Summary: | In his critique, Strayer ( 2022) failed to provide a single case of a conservation translocation resulting in harm to an ecosystem to counter our findings. In practice, however, the (sometimes repeated) failure of translocated organisms to establish in an environment has not historically precluded subsequent translocation attempts (e.g., Miami blue butterfly, Longcore, 2013, Kleinhenz, 2018). CONFLICT OF INTEREST The authors have no conflicts of interest. |
