Description
Summary:Composites are the materials manufactured by combining two or more constituent materials with significantly dissimilar physical and chemical properties so as to accomplish a task that none of the constituents can achieve solely. The composite materials are of vital importance in today’s world because barely any of the material is used in a pure and unalloyed form today. The different materials are usually combined to achieve the desirable properties such as high strength and toughness, corrosion resistance etc. in the final product. This paper highlights recent trends and developments of composite materials in various novel engineering applications such as Aircraft sectors, Military applications, transportation sectors, building and construction applications, composite grid or grating applications, railway applications etc.
