Description
Summary:We demonstrate the design of a highly directive circularly polarized planar reflectarray in this paper, with efficient polarization conversion from the linearly polarized excitation to the circularly polarized radiations based on a novel Jerusalem like cross loaded C-shaped open loop and circular patch anisotropic metasurface. The full-wave simulation results clearly show that circularly polarized plane waves could be generated by the proposed anisotropic metasurface after the linearly polarized incident waves emitted from the horn feed antenna at 15 GHz. Finally, we fabricate the proposed reflectarray antenna, and demonstrate the perfect generation of triple circularly polarized beams with the axial ratio of these beams all less than 2 dB, and an average gain of 22.4 dBic.
