Summary: | A process is developed for the production of a new complex alloy, alumosilicomanganese, the charge of which includes the off-grade high-silica manganese ores mined in the Zapadnyi Kamys deposit. The high-ash Karaganda coal is used as a reducing agent and the main source of silicon and aluminum in the charge. Large-scale laboratory heats result in the production of a high-quality alloy, which is absolutely resistant to decomposition. |
