Description
Summary:The relationship between the proto- and paleo-Ural complexes is a controversial problem of the Ural tectonics. There are two equally justified concepts [1]. According to the first concept, the paleoceanic complexes of the Urals are related to the Early Ordovician destruction of the older continental basin. According to the second concept, these complexes are relicts of the Late PrecambrianPaleozoic oceanic crust. One of the possible ways to solve this problem is geochronological dating of ophiolites and macultra-mac complexes of the Polar and Near-Polar Urals, which are contained in the autochthon of the West Ural zone [2], metamorphic blocks of the DzelayuKhord-Yus subzone, and the Rai-IzVoykar macultramac belt of the East Ural Zone (Fig. 1). In the autochthon of the West Ural zone, the mac ultramac complexes are represented by small bodies concordant to the general proto-Ural (Timan) northwestern strike.
