A new transition from image NRD guide to dielectric image line

Summary: | The image NRD guide (iNRDG), a modification of the NRD guide, and the dielectric image line (DIL) are low‐loss dielectric transmission lines. It is expected that they will be used in millimeter wave integrated circuits. In this paper, a transition guide from a coaxially fed iNRDG to a DIL with a linear flare at the junctions is proposed in order to allow smooth connection of an iNRD and a DIL. The operating principle of the flare at the junction between the iNRD and the DIL is analytically explored. Its validity is verified by a trial experiment. © 2000 Scripta Technica, Electron Comm Jpn Pt 2, 83(2): 1–8, 2000 |
