Summary: | This research study collected data on environmental literacy and was used among Florida 4-H youth participating in nonformal environmental education activities as part of their 4-H experience. Using "The Middle School Environmental Literacy Instrument," 4-H participants were tested on several variables, which appear to be important precursors to responsible environmental behavior. The examination of data related to these variables and the self-reported history of taking environmental action present a view of the effectiveness of this type of environmental education program in the development of environmentally responsible citizens. |
