Summary: | This research investigates the cyclic behavior of a polymer concrete-filled fiber reinforced polymer tube specimens. Based on the experimental results, utilizing carbon fiber as a confining layer results in a substantial improvement both in compressive strength and in cyclic behavior. A numerical model is employed to predict the behavior of confined polymer concrete beams. Subsequently, a parametric study is carried out on the cyclic behavior. The obtained results indicate the feasibility of designing polymer concrete-filled fiber reinforced polymer tube specimens with comparable hysteretic performance. |
