Description
Summary:Heterocycles are excellent compounds that play an important role in the production of new drugs, pharmaceutical molecules and natural products. Also, they are widely found in the structure of thousands of drugs, natural products and bioactive molecules. Therefore, research on the synthesis of the heterocyclic compounds is always an interesting topic for synthetic chemists. Due to wonderful properties, molecular iodine (I 2 ) is an efficient and attractive catalyst for performing multi-component and hard reactions. In this review, we focused on the catalytic application of molecular iodine for the synthesis of an attractive anthology of heterocyclic compounds.
