Summary: | Systemized results on the influence of the superconducting transition upon the macroscopic low temperature jump-like deformation are presented for a number of pure metals and alloys. In all cases qualitatively similar results were observed—in the superconducting state the jump-like deformation is either absent or underdeveloped as compared to the normal state. This finding is discussed in terms of current concepts of the nature of low temperature instability. |
