Summary:A method of macroresidual stress relieving by pulsating hydraulic testing of a 600-MW turbogenerator retaining ring is described. The method is valid for macroresidual stress relieving and does not damage the mechanical properties of the turbogenerator retaining ring. In the test, the macroresidual stress decreased by 240 MPa and the dimensions of the retaining ring diameter changed notably.
