Description
Summary:•New NiFeCrMoW type High Entropy Alloys (HEAs).•Correlation between the strength, ductility and phase structures.•Concept to optimize the combination of strength and ductility by varying the alloy composition. The correlation between the strength, ductility and phase structures of two new NiFeCrMoW type alloys is investigated. The ductile or brittle behavior is strongly influenced by the volume fraction of FCC and BCC phases. The results may allow for a concept to optimize the combination of strength and ductility by varying the alloy composition.
