Summary:We develop a semi-analytical model capable of describing the saturation dynamics of FEL oscillator devices, operating with an optical-klystron configuration in the pulse propagation regime. The model does not contain any assumption on the dominance of the dispersive section and includes the effect of slippage and lethargy and can be exploited both for single pass and recirculated devices.
