Description
Summary:•Material supports high deformation.•Easy preparation.•Material presents linear behavior: electrical resistance × mechanical deformation;•Its use can be in devices for the detection of human joints movement, among others. This work aimed at developing materials with the potential to be employed as high-deformation piezoresistive sensors based on conductive polymer composites, from prevulcanized natural rubber (PNR) and carbon black (CB). Materials were obtained by casting in different volumetric ratios of PNR/CB. The composite of PNR with a 7% inclusion of CB showed great potential for use as an electromechanical sensor: a linear behavior of the electric resistance with the mechanical deformation in repeated cycles with an appreciable gauge factor.
