Dioclein, a flavanone from the roots of Dioclea grandiflora

A new flavanone with the relatively rare 2′,5′-dioxygenation at ring B has been isolated from the roots of Dioclea grandiflora and its structure established as 5,2′, 5′-trihydroxy-6,7-dimethoxyflavanone, mainly with the aid of spectroscopic methods.
