Description
Summary:Acoustic and piezoelectric properties of Piezo-Rubbers and receiving characteristics of Piezo-Rubber transducers are reported as a function of PbTiO 3 volume fraction. Piezo-Rubber is a piezoelectric composite material consisting of PbTiO 3 and chloroprene rubber. The frequency dependence of underwater receiving sensitivity, directional patterns and acoustic transmitting/receiving responses of Piezo-Rubber transducers are measured, and the results discussed in terms of the piezoelectric properties of Piezo-Rubbers and PZT materials. In addition, the correlation between the value of d 31 of Piezo-Rubber and lateral vibrational noise is discussed.
