Description
Summary:A TLD-based multisphere spectrometer has been constructed to measure neutron spectra under high fluence-rate conditions. The multisphere system uses paired TLD-600 and TLD-700 thermoluminescence detectors. Spectral measurements made with this system are compared with measurements made with a 6LiI(Eu) scintillator-based Bonner sphere spectrometer. The system was used to measure the neutron spectrum of the Georgia Tech Research Reactor Bio-Medical Facility under high neutron fluence rates. The scintillator-based system was used at low neutron and gamma fluence rates. A comparison of this unfolded spectrum is made with an MCNP code calculation performed using a simplified representation of the reactor and the beam facility.
