Summary:A method of on-line thermal testing and diagnostics of the engineering state including estimation of the residual life, of flat heaters under conditions of production and operation has been developed using solution of the inverse ill-posed problem of thermal testing. Recently performed experimental studies of hardware and software have shown the possibility of application of this technique in real field exploitation conditions.
