Numerical Simulation of the Influence of a Mach Wave on the Laminar–Turbulent Transition in a Supersonic Boundary Layer

Description
Summary:The results of numerical simulation of the influence of an incident Mach wave on the process of a laminar–turbulent transition in a supersonic boundary layer on a flat plate in a supersonic flow of a perfect gas at the Mach number M = 2.5 are considered. The effect of the incident Mach wave amplitude on the laminar–turbulent transition in a supersonic boundary layer is considered. It is shown that the influence of a Mach wave with an amplitude of 5% leads to the formation of a turbulent wedge in the boundary layer on a flat plate.
