Summary: | A method for mathematically determining the geometric position and sizes of static friction and sliding friction zones at the point of contact between an elastic wheel and a firm support surface has been proposed. Schemes for the initiation and growth of the sliding friction zone at the point of contact upon an increase in the braking torque have been developed. The technique is based on the results of theoretical and experimental research. |
