Description
Summary:The structure of metastable Fe 3 B boride and its change during phase transformations of alloys of the Fe–B system from amorphous to equilibrium crystalline state have been investigated by X-ray diffraction analysis and transmission electron microscopy. It is shown that metastable boride undergoes the Fe 3 B ( ) → Fe 3 B ( ) → Fe 3 B ( P ) structural transformations and retains its lattice parameters during amorphous-phase crystallization. The thermal stability of each lattice depends on the B concentration in the alloy.
