Description
Summary:Electron inelastic-scattering mean-free-path (MFP) in ionic crystals has been studied. A correction procedure has been considered which is related to the phonon and wave vector. The calculation shows that MFP is mainly dominated by plasmon, and only at very low electron kinetics energy region, the phonon may play an obvious role on MFP. The rate of scattered electron from the plasmons is also much larger than that from the phonons. However, the phonon results in the rate of scattered electron with a sharper angular distribution in the forward direction.
