Description
Summary:[Display omitted] Two dimensional (2D) nanomaterials are another wonder of nanoscience due to its wide spectrum of applications in various fields. Biomaterials have been explored as exfoliating agents for the conversion of bulk 2D materials into single or few-layered nanosheets. Considering their bio origin, use of green solvent, and availability and low cost, biomaterials are considered as efficient exfoliating, functionalizing and stabilizing agents for 2D materials. Nanosheets obtained from biomaterials assisted exfoliation can be used as reinforcing materials for various polymer matrices. Biomaterials assisted green exfoliation of various 2D materials and its applications in polymer matrices is briefly discussed in this review. In addition to polymer nanocomposite applications, applications such as biomedical, energy storage, membranes, electro catalysts and some other applications of biomaterial exfoliated nanosheets are also included in this review.
