Description
Summary:The traditional methods for zeolite synthesis include use of various solvents that tend to produce pollutants. It is therefore necessary to find green and efficient routes for zeolite synthesis. Herein, we demonstrated a detailed way to synthesize MOR zeolite by a solvent-free method. The synthesized MOR zeolite was characterized by XRD, SEM, TEM, N2 sorption, MAS NMR and UV-Raman spectroscopy. Compared with other routes, solvent-free method not only addresses pollution issues, but also significantly enhances the yield. A 650 g mass of MOR zeolite with good crystallinity was obtained in 1 L Teflon by one-time synthesis. The optimum conditions for fast synthesis of large amounts of high purity MOR zeolite crystals are the SiO2/Al2O3/Na2O = (7.5–25)/1/1, crystallization temperature and period at 200 °C for 24 h. [Display omitted] •MOR zeolite is prepared by solvent-free grinding method.•Optimum synthesis conditions of MOR zeolite via the solvent-free route are examined in detail.•Significantly high product yield is obtained by solvent-free synthesis.•Mass production of high crystallization MOR zeolite can be achieved in laboratory.
