Description
Summary:Pulse propagation in a weakly and randomly inhomogeneous medium is studied using a time-domain progressive wave equation. An eikonal-like approximated solution to the wave equation derived from the path integral representation is used to obtain the time-dependent statistics of pulses propagating through this random medium. This approach yields both a simple way of producing simulations of time series as well as their statistical properties.
