Summary: | Baig et al comment on the challenges and recommendations on COVID-19 vaccination in conflict-affected areas in Nigeria. Nigeria is about to have its third wave of COVID-19 pandemic, however, vaccination and other preventive measures that can halt this spread are given priority in some areas and among some people. Some areas in the Northeastern part of the country are affected by conflict, which has already destroyed most of their healthcare system, so the COVID-19 pandemic and an unequal distribution of vaccines worsen the situation in these areas. The authors discusses the challenges, and efforts that conflict affected areas in Nigeria are facing in providing an equitable supply and acceptance of COVID-19 vaccine. We also provide some recommendations on the solutions that can be utilized by the healthcare system in Nigeria to overcome the pandemic. |
