SR-excited luminescence of corundum with native defects

Description
Summary:Using synchrotron radiation (SR), radiation relaxation of electron excitations in nominally pure and anion-imperfect corundum crystals subject to irradiation with fast electrons and neutrons was studied. It was found that the luminescence decay time of F + centers depends on the surrounding defects. New data were obtained on the luminescence decay kinetics at 290, 380 and 400 nm, the luminescence being due to exciton-like bodies and complex F aggregate centers.
