Description
Summary:Comparative research of microstructure and properties of different strength classes of plate steels produced by controlled rolling with accelerated cooling is performed. Standard mechanical properties, ductility parameters, and cold resistance are determined. The relaxation effect for pipe steels is evaluated. It is shown that structural heterogeneity has an unfavorable effect on brittle failure resistance due to the formation of local stresses of higher level that arise under the action of loading in the elastic region.
