Summary: | The relation between intensities of Stokes and anti-Stokes light scattering in low-frequency region has been investigated for liquid carbon disulfide at room temperature. The commonly used relation between these scattering intensities breaks down in the energy region of the relaxational mode. This leads to a discrepancy in linear response functions obtained from the Stokes and anti-Stokes scattering separately. The behavior may be related to the fact that the mode interacts with other bath modes and is strongly dissipative. |
