Description
Summary:The kinetic energy distributions and the cross sections of the ions produced in the electron impact of ethyl tert-butyl ether (ETBE) have been studied by time of flight (TOF) mass spectrometry. The kinetic energy distributions have been deduced from the TOF peak shape analysis and a Montecarlo simulation method of the ion trajectories has been used to evaluate the collection efficiency of the spectrometer as a function of the ion initial kinetic energy. The measured ion yields have been corrected for the collection efficiency and the partial and total ionization cross sections of ETBE determined in the range 20–150 eV.
