Summary:Inhomogeneous higher order nonlinear Schrödinger equation is an important model to investigate various solitons. In this work, we obtain the self-similar brightlike, darklike and W-shape solitons by using self-similar transformation and present rich modulation by changing free real functions and linear potentials. The self-similar solitons might provide theories for laser pulse experiments.
