Summary: | Natural fibers played a significant role in human civilization. The application of fiber reinforced composites reveals the scope to widen and to adopt the natural fibre composites for industrial requisitions. Composites consisting of polyester resin were prepared by reinforcing with vakka fiber. The effect of nano clay on mechanical properties is observed in the present research work. It is determined that the mean tensile strength and flexural strength of nano clay filled vakka fiber polyester composites is 21.2% and 55% higher than those of composites without the addition of nano clay at 45% volume fraction. |
