Magnetism of Fe/Cr/Gd superlattices

The magnetic properties of Fe/Cr/Gd superlattices are studied. The measurements are performed using SQUID magnetometry and polarized neutron reflectometry (PNR). In this structure, the exchange interaction between the layers of 3 d (Fe) and 4 f (Gd) ferromagnetic metals occurs through a layer of ant...

Description
Summary:The magnetic properties of Fe/Cr/Gd superlattices are studied. The measurements are performed using SQUID magnetometry and polarized neutron reflectometry (PNR). In this structure, the exchange interaction between the layers of 3 d (Fe) and 4 f (Gd) ferromagnetic metals occurs through a layer of antiferromagnetic Cr. It is found that a nonuniform spatial profile of magnetization is formed in the Gd layer.
