Description
Summary:We analyze the friction-velocity-normalized turbulence kinetic energy ( E n ) in the near-ground atmospheric layer over urbanized territory. Based on the field measurements, we studied the dependence of E n on the mean wind direction and the stratification type. Different E n models are considered and compared with experimental data. It is found that the E n models used do not provide the required simulation quality under the conditions encountered in field experiments. Hopefully, E n will be adequately simulated taking into account not only the mean wind direction and the current stratification type but also some other wind flow characteristics.
