Novel Synthesis of Borane Complexes of Cyclic Phosphanes Using Ruthenium-Catalyzed Olefin Metathesis

Grubbs' catalyst [Cl2Ru{P(C6H11)3}2=CHPh] can be used to synthesize borane complexes of cyclic phosphanes by ring‐closing metathesis reactions. This strategy has been applied, for example, to the preparation of a borane‐protected bisphosphanes [Eq. (1)].
