Description
Summary:In his wide-ranging article, "Religious Liberty & Economic Development," Anthony Gill explores several models of possible causal linkages between religious freedom and economic development. In this brief commentary, Warner takes up the Charitable Giving Model, and discuss several concerns with it. The general notion behind the model is fairly straightforward: If people are free to practice and believe in their religions, and those religions encourage and channel helping behavior and generosity in their adherents, then religious freedom could contribute to economic development.
