Helicobacter pylori (HP), one realizes there is no statistical correlation between gastric infection and carcinoma. The only data which sustain its role is its possible effect in promoting atrophic gastritis with intestinal metaplasia, via the serum pepsinogen 1 reduction due to anti-
HP immunoglobulin A (IgA) antibody. Intestinal metaplasia of the stomach is a condition increasing cell proliferation. |
