Description
Summary:The advantages of straight-run diesel fuel hydrotreated at 80 atm pressure on a nickel-molybdenum catalyst as a feedstock for producing hydrocarbon bases for drilling fluids over hydrocracking diesel fuel are shown. Based on laboratory investigation results, an industrial run that confirmed prospects of large-scale production of hydrocarbon bases for drilling fluids at a diesel fuel dewaxing unit was carried out. Considering the idle time of the unit during summer due to lack of winter diesel fuel demand, the proposed technology significantly raises the production marginality.
