Description
Summary:The physicochemical and tribological characteristics of structural steels nitrided in anhydrous medium under corrosion-mechanical fracture in an acidic model medium are carried out. The “flexibility” of nitrided layers adaptation to changes in external load conditions is explained by minimizing the ∆ E / A ratio. Minimization mechanisms are different. Under elastic-plastic contact the processes of nitrided structural steels fracture become stable as a result of dense protective films formation on the surface. Under plastic contact it occurs due to the increase of the efficiency of the “debris-layer” barrier effect. The influence of temperature and sucrose on the intensity of surface fracture is found out.
