Summary: | The 16th China National Reading Survey conducted by Chinese Academy of Press and Publication indicates that in 2018, the trend of reading was characterized by the use of mobile digital devices among Chinese readers. Digital reading continued to maintain its momentum and pushed up the overall percentage of readers in the Chinese population. However, it also contributed to slower growth in the reading of printed materials. Adult Chinese spent the longest time reading on their mobile phones among all kinds of media, while among all traditional printed media, they spent the longest time reading books. In addition, audio reading continued to grow, with mobile audio apps being the main platform for audio books listening. |
