Description
Summary:Nickel-aluminum bronze (NAB) has a complex phase composition, which will lead to different properties through different preparation processes. By rheological squeeze, the microstructure and mechanical properties of the QAl10-4-4 alloy were investigated in this paper. The results show that the α phase, β′ phase and к phase are present in as-cast, liquid squeeze and rheo-squeeze conditions. However, no к I phase was not found in the rheo-squeeze part due to the inhibition of the enclosed cooling slope channel (ECSC). In addition, the tensile strength and elongation of rheo-squeeze part are 777.9 MPa and 3.39%, respectively. The tensile strength and elongation of rheo-squeeze castings are increased by 24.8 and 124.5%, respectively, compared to liquid squeeze castings. This improvement is primarily attributable to the uniform and fine microstructure, fine grain strengthening, and dispersion strengthening. Graphical abstract
