Summary:In this work, the mixture of furfural, hydroquinone, and urotropine has been used as a new initial reagent for synthesis of nanoporous carbon material using activation by KOH. The optimum synthesis conditions, temperature and activation time, are 1 h and 750°C, respectively. These conditions make it possible to obtain microporous carbon material with pore volume of 1.2 cm 3 /g and BET specific surface area of about 3000 m 2 /g.
