Structures of dibromodicyanoaurate complexes with methoxymethyltriphenylphosphonium and tetraphenylstibonium cations

The reaction of potassium dibromodicyanoaurate with methoxymethyltriphenylphosphonium and tetraphenylstibonium chlorides in water followed by recrystallization from acetonitrile gave the ionic complexes [Ph 3 PCH 2 OMe][Au(CN) 2 Br 2 ] ( 1 ) and [Ph 4 Sb][Au(CN) 2 Br 2 ] ( 2 ), which were characteri...

Description
Summary:The reaction of potassium dibromodicyanoaurate with methoxymethyltriphenylphosphonium and tetraphenylstibonium chlorides in water followed by recrystallization from acetonitrile gave the ionic complexes [Ph 3 PCH 2 OMe][Au(CN) 2 Br 2 ] ( 1 ) and [Ph 4 Sb][Au(CN) 2 Br 2 ] ( 2 ), which were characterized by IR and NMR spectroscopy and X-ray diffraction. The crystals of complexes 1 and 2 consist of the tetrahedral methoxymethyltriphenylphosphonium and tetra-phenylstibonium cations, respectively, and crystallographically independent square-planar dibromodicyanoaurate anions. In complex 1 , the anions form coordination polymer chains via Au∙∙∙Br interanionic contacts (3.46 Å).
