Description
Summary:The results of studying the effect produced by the partial substitution of Sr 2+ ions by Ba 2+ ions on the thermophysical and magnetocaloric properties of La 0.7 Sr 0.3 –   x Ba x MnO 3 manganite ( x = 0; 0.02; 0.05, and 0.10) within a temperature range of 100–400 K in a magnetic field of up to 1.8 T are submitted. It has been shown that such substitution leads to an essential decrease in T С . In the behavior of the thermal diffusivity η( Т ) and thermal conductivity κ( Т ) near T С , there occur the minima associated with the scattering of photons on both local crystal lattice distortions and spin fluctuations. Absolute thermal conductivity values descend with an increase in the disorder parameter. The magnetocaloric effect exhibits a weak dependence on the substitution level ( x ).
