Description
Summary:The effects of an inhibitor of inducible NO-synthase (AR-R 17477) on the indices of free radical process have been investigated in the cerebral structures of rats with different lateralization profiles. The inhibitor was injected into the rats prior to bilateral occlusion of the common carotid arteries. After occlusion of the common carotid arteries, TBA-reactive products accumulated predominantly in the right hemisphere of the animals with different lateralization profiles. When AR-R 17477 was injected prior to occlusion of common carotid arteries, the level of lipid peroxidation products decreased in rats with right or left lateralization profiles. This effect was possibly related to different adaptation strategies of antioxidant defense.
