Summary:An abstract of a study by Colby et al that examined the relationship between consumers' practices with nutrition labeling on packaged foods in grocery stores and consumers' attitudes toward proposed restaurant menu labeling is presented. Moreover, the study findings show the relationship between such practices and attitudes regarding nutrition labels in grocery stores and in restaurant settings indicates that many lessons may be gleaned from previous research on food product labeling and consumer behavior and considered during the development of menu labeling initiatives.
