Summary: | Photosynthetic microorganisms, especially microalgae and cyanobacteria, have been well‐developed as novel biomaterials with their beneficial bio‐functionalities. Moreover, by integrating the unique properties of distinctive functional materials with photosynthetic microorganisms, constructed Material‐decorated Photosynthetic Microorganisms (MPMs) could foster diversified biomedical functions, thereby envisaging plausible clinical practice. In article number 2203038, Bengang Xing and co‐workers provide an account of the current MPM research advances while simultaneously illustrating the biomedical application in detail of smart cargo targeting delivery, oxygen‐dependent synergistic theranostic platform, macro‐sized living photosynthetic scaffold, and their future outlook. |
