Summary: | The in-vitro activity of cefpirome was compared with other antibiotics against organisms causing sexually transmitted diseases (STD). The excellent activity of cefpirome against Neisseria gonorrhoeae (MIC90 1.0 mg/L), Haemophilus ducreyi (MIC90 0.5 mg/L), and Gardnerella vaginalis (MIC90 1.0 mg/L) suggests that this agent might be useful in the empirical treatment of a variety of venereal diseases. |
